IBM & LEXMARK WHEELWRITER IDENTIFICATION
WHEELWRITERS 10 & 15 *** PERSONAL WHEELWRITERS SERIES 1, 2 & 1000
Personal Wheelwriter The PW 1 has no green coded cursor keys. The PW-2 has coded ("Word") cursor left and right keys. IBM Personal Wheel Writer 10 & Lexmark Wheel Writer 1000 The W-10 & Lexmark 1000 have green coded "Mar Rel, Reprt" keys, and all four cursor keys. The "Tclr" is not coded. The W-10 has notched edges on the base plate (as above). The 1000 base plate has straight edges. IBM & Wheel Writer 15 (W-15) has green coded "Tclr Zone" key.
WHEELWRITERS 5 & 6 **** QUIETWRITERS 7 & 8
Wheel writer 5 The Wheel Writer 5 has no green coded control keys & has "Dec T" key. Wheel Writer 6 The Wheel Writer has a blue coded "Advance" control key and other blue coded keycaps. Quiet Writer 7 The QW-7 is almost identical to the Wheel Writer 5 with the "Dec T' key except for the green coded o+- "Expand" and T "Font" keys. Quiet Writer 8 The QW-8 is almost identical to the Wheel Writer 6 except the for the green coded o+- "Expand" and T "Font" keys.
WHEELWRITER 1500, 3000, & PERSONAL 2000
Lexmark Wheel Writer 1500 This model has a green coded "Page Eject". Lexmark Wheel Writer 2000/3000 Both the 2000 & 3000 have a black "Print Mode" and a regular "Tclr". There is a difference between the 2000 & 3000 however. The 2000 has a straight-edged base plate & the 3000 is notched.
WHEELWRITERS 30, 35, 3500, 50, 5000, 70, & 7000
IBM Wheel Writer 30 & Lexmark Personal Wheel Writer 25- The IBM 30 & PW 25 both have only one green coded key ("RMar IndR") on the left side. The only difference between the two models is that the PW 25 has a straight-edged base and the IBM 30 has a notched base. IBM Wheel Writer 35 & Lexmark 3500 These two model has a green coded "Menu 2" key. IBM Wheel Writer 50 & Lexmark 5000 These two models have a green coded "Delay Print" on the "Menu" key. IBM Wheel Writer 70 & Lexmark Wheel Writer 7000 These two models have a "Help" control key. All of the control keys on the left side have F-1 through F-10 on the front of each of the keycaps.
